WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT WORK BEING UNDERTAKEN CURRENTLY BY THE BCC FOUNDATION?

We are currently trying to lift the profile of the Foundation within the school community and create a better understanding of the role the Foundation plays in the development of the school, thus providing better access to those people and organisations within the school community who wish to contribute to the College’s long-term security.  We are also working on growing and broadening the Foundation’s investment base, taking full advantage of the Foundation’s strategic taxation position and at the same time protecting it against market fluctuations.  A strong financial base reduces the impact of economic factors on the school’s future performance.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU ABOUT YOUR WORK FOR THE FOUNDATION?

I enjoyed my time as a student at BCC and it has provided me with a strong educational base.  Through this role I can give back to the school.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAMILY CONNECTIONS WITH THE COLLEGE?

My children Angus (Year 4) and Alice (Year 2) are fourth-generation College students.  Family members who are Old Collegians include my grandfather Owen (1917), great uncle John (1920) (Dux of School and stroked the first winning Head of the Lake crew), father Barrie (1949)(also Chairman of Council and Foundation Director), Uncle Ray (1946), brother Craig (1978), sisters Lisa Beauchamp (1981) and Tania (1987), and nephews William (2007) and George (2008).
